Formerly The Quilting Circle, the Knotty Ladies meet once a month to assemble quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The quilts are made all year and then boxed up for shipment in late January for the Ingathering in Jacksonville.

The tops and backs of the quilts are made at home, then, they are brought to the monthly meeting at the church. The middle layer of batting is added by cutting to size, pinning to the tops and backs, and secured in place with thread ties to make a warm and sturdy quilt.
Displaying the Quilts

More than thirty quilts have been assembled each recent year. They are displayed on our pews for at least one Sunday and blessed during the Worship Service. It is a joy to see the colorful quilts displayed each January and to know they will be a blessing to those who receive them.

We welcome willing hands to cut fabric and batting, sew quilt tops at home, and come in to tie and assemble the quilts. We will teach anyone the basic steps of quilt assembly. Also, we have a great time assembling together, while helping others in difficult circumstances.
